With deepest sympathy

With deepest sympathy
March 14, 2025 at 4:00 p.m.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of a good friend, longtime CRA member and colleague in the roofing industry.

Our deepest sympathy & condolences to his family, friends and former associates and co-workers.

Matt Johnson
(1959-2025)

Matt Johnson (65) passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on January 25, 2025, in Parker, Colorado.

Born in Festus, Missouri, on March 28, 1959, to Melvin and Annetta Johnson, he was raised in Aurora, Colorado and graduated from Aurora Hinkley High School.

Matt began his career in roofing in 1977, installing shake shingle roofs. In 1982, he joined CEI West Roofing (now Tecta America), where he worked his way up to a foreman position, staying with the company until 1999. He then moved to Wilson Brothers, managing their flat roof division until his retirement in 2023.

A longtime member of the roofing community, Matt actively participated in many CRA Golf Tournaments and events. He also enjoyed traveling on ABC Trips to various destinations.

Matt was an avid golfer, playing courses across the country. He had a passion for cars — big or small, fast or slow. During the fall, he loved big game and bird hunting, as well as raising and breeding Labrador Retrievers. He and his wife enjoyed vacations in Hawaii, where he had hoped to retire.

Matt is survived by his wife of 25 years, Jaime Johnson; his parents, Melvin and Annetta; his daughter, Amanda; his son, Michael; and his stepdaughter, Haley. He was also a proud grandfather to three granddaughters: Birdie, Yanelly and Emmy. He is survived by his sister, Vicki and was preceded in death by his sister, Suzanne.

Matt’s extensive knowledge of flat roofing, combined with his expertise, personality and friendship, made a lasting impression throughout his career and he will be deeply missed by Wilson Brothers and his friends in the industry.

We extend our deepest condolences to his wife, Jaime, his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace.
