What to Look Forward to at This Year's ARCA Expo

ARCA President Larry Miller lists all the reasons to participate at the 53rd tradeshow this fall.  

Heidi J. Ellsworth visits with Larry Miller, A in a new Roofing Road Trips episode to chat about the upcoming Arizona Roofing Contractors Association (ARCA) Expo and what is on the itinerary for this year’s show. The Expo is the one and only roofing tradeshow in Arizona and is celebrating 53 years! This year, the Expo will be at Harrah's Ak-Chin Casino and Resort in Maricopa September 29 - October 1, 2022. 

“It's as much a business meeting as a social function,” says Larry. “It's where we elect our board of directors, as well as have a lot of entertainment activities. We offer a variety of seminars and training each year. Just lots of different things to educate our members so that they can be better in the industry.” 

The ARCA Expo is such a fantastic show because over the three days it takes place it offers so much to the contractors. The show is jam packed with educational opportunities, informational seminars, networking, sports events, and more! 

“It starts off on Thursday. Registration opens at noon and lasts until about 8:00,” says Larry. The first event is the Get Acquainted party. That's actually a big social event, it has a cocktail reception and then dinner. And that's really where you get to see all the people you haven't seen much over the last year, that kind of thing.” Larry tells Heidi that this event is a great way to engage with peers in the industry and meet new people. He also adds that on Thursday ARCA puts on a sporting clays tournament and a cornhole competition. It’s a whole day of fun! 

The next day, Friday, is when the show kicks into high gear. The tradeshow floor is open this day, and it is a great chance to see a lot of the exciting new products and services. There are additionally a lot of educational opportunities on this day. “There's lots of very helpful seminars on becoming certified to install tile, roof failures and blow off, forklift certifications, understanding R-value,” says Larry. “Then on Saturday we have the 53rd annual golf tournament, which is a lot of fun...then of course, we culminate with the cocktail party and then our Awards Banquet. And at that time, it also starts the business meeting where we do elect our board of directors for the upcoming year.” 

With so much going on at the show, there is never a dull moment! “We look forward to seeing everybody out there. It's going to be a great time, lots of fun things happening, and lots of good things to see and do.”
