We have lost an amazing member of our roofing community and the human race, as Randy Surls passed away on July 24, 2021. Randy had held a general contractor’s license and built custom homes for years. He entered the roofing industry by working with WeatherTech Consulting Group, Progressive Roofing and WRECORP. Randy left behind his wife and life partner of 45 years, two daughters and one son and one foster son. The family has many grandchildren including step, adoptive and foster grandchildren.
Randy was a wonderful soul, with a sense of humor and a kind smile for all. Randy was not only our employee and coworker, but more importantly he was part of our Brown family. We truly respected him for his dedication, loyalty, honesty, and most of all, generous personality. Randy was caring, fun, loving, a very giving person, always pushing oneself to be a better person, someone to look up to, with amazing personality. People with his qualities do not come around very often and this world is a lesser place without him in it.
We have received an enormous outpouring of calls and emails from all members of the construction community expressing their sorrow and condolences on Randy’s passing. We wish to thank all of you for your kind words and thoughts.
Our lives lost a little luster but the heavens are a little brighter.
