Use cause marketing to support the things you care about

Use cause marketing to support the things you care about - Trent Cotney
November 13, 2024 at 7:00 p.m.

RCS Influencer Trent Cotney says I've always believed in giving back, especially when it relates to our industry.

Editor's note: The following is the transcript of a live interview with RCS Influencer Trent Cotney. You can read the interview below or listen to the podcast.

Intro: Hello, everybody. I'm Alex Tolle with rooferscoffeeshop.com and I am here with Trent Cotney for our November Influencer topic. Hello, Trent.

Trent Cotney: Hey, good to see you again.

Alex Tolle: Good to see you. It's been so long. So what are you doing around cause marketing and how has it... Okay, hang on, let me start that over. What are you doing around cause marketing and how has that enhanced your company brand reputation?

Trent Cotney: Yeah, so I think supporting the various causes and charities out there is important. I've always believed in giving back, especially when it relates to our industry. So personally and from a business standpoint, I tend to support three things and that's construction and roofing related charities, that's and dogs. Those are pretty much three things that I really like to support.

So within construction and roofing, there's a variety of charitable foundations out there. Everything from NRCA's Roofing Alliance to Western States Davis Memorial to CRCA's Foundation to FRSA's Educational and Research Foundation. And there are many others out there that do the same thing. These associations typically support research projects and scholarships, and I try to, every single year give something to each of them. I believe it's sort of our duty to kind of give back to the industry that's helped put food on my table for generations at this point. So that's kind of what I'm doing on my end, and I encourage everybody else as we get closer to the end of the year to do the same thing.

Alex Tolle: Amazing. I love that. Well, thank you so much, Trent and we will see everybody in our December Influencers.

Outro: Thanks.
