If you’re taking on a larger, commercial roofing retrofit job, a spray polyurethane foam (SPF) roofing system is the ideal choice. Not only does SPF have a proven track record of performance, but it also requires less labor to install than other roofing systems. Another great benefit of SPF roofing is that its installation does not require tearing off the existing roof, and is therefore less disruptive.
For a major roofing retrofit on busy commercial buildings, such as a shopping mall or warehouse, consider the Ultra-Thane 230 HFO Spray Foam from General Coatings as a top choice for the job. The installation is less disruptive to building occupants than other roofing solutions and the foam has excellent insulating properties. And because it’s an HFO spray, which has zero ozone depletion potential, it’s also an incredibly sustainable roofing system.
Ultra-Thane 230 is made from a polyurethane foam that’s two-component and closed cell. It is Class A fire-rated and when installed correctly, can minimize heat transfer all while creating a watertight barrier. It comes in three densities: 2.5 pounds per cubic foot (pcf), 2.7 pcf and 3.0 pcf. It’s a great choice for building owners who want a monolithic and seamless roofing system.
This roofing spray is self-flashing which helps reduce the time it takes to install the system. There is also no need to tear off the roof in the future. With proper maintenance and an occasional re-coating, a roof sprayed with Ultra-Thane 230 will perform for many years to come.
