IB-3™ IceBuster by MFM Building Products is a strong roofing underlayment that helps protect a house from water leaks caused by ice, snow and rain. It's designed to be used specifically with asphalt shingled roofs. Made of a fiberglass core bonded to rubberized asphalt, and coated with black granules, this 50-mil mineral surfaced roofing material is durable and can be installed on new construction or for reroofing projects.
IB-3 IceBuster is designed to be easy to use. Adhering directly to the roof deck, this underlayment can be installed on a roof when it's above 40°F, and it works best when installed on slopes that are 2:12. It can also be installed at roof edges and valleys, as well as flashing around vents, skylights and chimneys.
One unique feature of the IB-3 IceBuster that helps it stand out from other products on the market is its split-release liner, which splits in the middle for seamless valley applications and makes it easy to install, especially in tricky spots. Plus, it self-sealing around nails, screws and other common fasteners to help form a long-lasting barrier to stop leaks. Once applied, IB-3 IceBuster is able to be left out and exposed for up to a month, giving you flexibility during installation should delays occur. It comes in two different sizes – 1 square and 1.95 square.
The IB-3 IceBuster has been thoroughly tested and has approvals from ASTM D 1970, ICC-ES ESR 1737, Florida Building Code FL 11842.1, Miami-Dade County and is Fortified Building Program Listed.
This self-adhering underlayment is an excellent choice for anyone looking to improve their roof's resistance against harsh weather conditions. Its user-friendly features, like the split-release liner and self-sealing capabilities around fasteners, make installation a breeze while ensuring a strong, leak-proof barrier.
