Too Cold to Roof? Not Anymore

Tremco Cold Weather Product

By Karen L. Edwards, RCS Editor.

Innovations in product development have led to solutions that allow your crews to keep roofing in colder temperatures.

There are many people who love cold weather. Winter brings snow and cold-weather sports like skiing and ice skating. Kids can build snowmen and have snowball fights. It sounds like fun and games, unless you are roofing contractor struggling to work with products that just can’t handle the weather.

Cold temperatures result in cracked and brittle materials, frozen liquids and equipment that just doesn’t want to work. It used to be that roofing companies would stretch their work into the cold weather as far as they could before stopping for the winter and starting crews back up in March or April.

This doesn’t need to be the case anymore because as the saying goes - the times, they are a changing. Manufacturers like Tremco Roofing have spent years working to find solutions that will allow contractors to keep working throughout the winter. This is not only good for your business to be able to stay open and earn money, but it’s a bonus for your customers who won’t have to wait until spring to see what roofing problems resulted from a harsh winter.

They have put together a wide-range of cold weather roofing solutions, that will even perform in temperature as low as minus-20 degrees F. Solutions include metal, cold- and hot-applied built up and modified bitumen, single ply and liquid applied systems for restoration, renovation or replacement.

To help you choose the right solution for your project, the team at Tremco Roofing put together the Cold Weather Product Selector Guide. It provides information on each solution, along with tips for successful installation in cold weather situations.

Download your copy of the Cold Weather Product Selector and keep roofing this winter.
