Nearmap’s aerial imagery services are great for roofers who want to perform roof inspections without leaving their offices. They have recently updated their MapBrowser interface based on user feedback and it’s now more accessible than ever!
MapBrowser is a web application Nearmap offers that allows you to explore and markup high-resolution aerial imagery. The most requested change to the interface was the size of the screen. New improvements have changed the layout of the maps to allow for maximum screen space. The toolbars and navigation controls are now more compact, giving users additional space to markup their maps.
Navigating the maps is now easier with the improvements made to the compass feature. Now the compass can be clicked and dragged to rotate the map and can also be controlled by keyboard shortcuts.
Organizing and saving your work is now a simpler process thanks to the new compact sidebar. The sidebar includes functions to access projects, layers, exports and downloads for a more seamless experience. The toolbar at the top of the map also allows quick access to features such as markers, text, snapshots, annotations and more.
