The Manufacturing Institute has recognized Hana Lane, plant leader at the Owens Corning Jacksonville, Florida roofing manufacturing facility, with a Women MAKE Award for 2024. Lane is one of 100 honorees across the country selected for this honor.
The Women MAKE Awards recognize women in science, technology, engineering and production careers who exemplify leadership within their companies. This national honor identifies top talent in the manufacturing industry and further encourages award winners to mentor and support the next generation of female talent to pursue modern manufacturing careers.
“Hana is a talented manufacturing leader who is representative of the many outstanding women who work at Owens Corning,” said Gunner Smith, Owens Corning Roofing Business President. “She has been instrumental in driving manufacturing efficiencies, while developing her team and serving as an active member of the community. She has also been a powerful advocate for women in operations, further advancing opportunities for women in our plants. Hana has made significant impact within our Roofing business, and we are proud to see her efforts recognized.”
Lane joined Owens Corning in 2011 through the company’s manufacturing leadership development program. Since then, she has held roles of increasing responsibility including being promoted to operations leader of the Irving, Texas roofing plant in 2017, before being named plant leader of the company’s Jacksonville plant in 2023. Lane is an active member of her community. She has served as a role model and mentor to elementary school students and volunteer at an after-school fitness program for children. She has also volunteered at the local Humane Society and has supported Habitat for Humanity through home-building events.
In honor of her accomplishments, she will attend a two-day leadership program and be recognized at an evening gala on April 18 in Washington DC.
