The Key to a Family Business is Constantly Evolving and Developing Company Culture

RCS Influencer’s Ashley and Seth Pietsch talk about following in the family’s footsteps and what they have learned running a family business.  

At Integrity Insurance & Bonding Inc. the roots of insurance run deep. Co-owner, Ashley Pietsch grew up in the world of insurance with parents, cousins, uncles and grandparents all having a long history in the industry. When it was time for Ashley to make a career choice, it was only natural that she would follow in the family’s footsteps and go to work for her parent’s agency, Ross & Associates. Not long after, her husband Seth Pietsch would decide to join the team. Both being naturals in this environment and being a sponge to all the information surrounding them, they quickly fell in love with the business. 

After a few years of working for Ashley’s parents, Ross & Associates would decide to sell to a bigger agency, Seth and Ashley followed but quickly realized that the larger, corporate feel was not what they were used to, nor did it accommodate their strengths, making and maintaining relationships with their clients. So, after great consideration they decided to open their own agency and get back to their roots and what they love most, not just selling insurance, but being in the people business. 

And so, Integrity Insurance & Bonding Inc. was born. Just the two of them are working from their home office and have rapidly grown into a team of ten within just a three-year span. Over this short time, they have learned the value of creating a great team. Hiring within and outside of their family has created a great dynamic and gives a broader perspective that clearly adds value and growth to the company. 

Office morale and company culture are a top priority at Integrity. The mission is to continue to grow a successful team who lives our company values in and out of the office. We are each other’s biggest assets and we recognize that team work along with clearly defined roles is what keeps us thriving and loving what we do. 

One of the most beneficial learning experiences has been that we must evolve with the times. It is easy for us all to get trapped in the thought “this is how we’ve always done it” and then dig our heels in because it is all we have ever known. We live in a time where technology is changing daily and people’s wants, needs, and expectations are changing along with it. Because of this we are implementing and experimenting with new ideas regularly to better the customer experience and our daily work environment amongst our team. 

Starting a family business has allowed Seth and Ashley to build something together and tailor it to their own core values. They hope to continue to grow their team and create opportunities for success that will ultimately lead to a legacy they can leave to future generations.
