The Wil-Mar Pipe Collar is a great product that helps reduce problems when sealing a vent pipe to a roof and prevents leaks. Essentially, it is a special piece of EPDM rubber that sustains its shape in high and low temperatures and is resistant to oil, ozone and sunlight.
The Pipe Collar has a very unique plunger shape that allows it to slide down any pipe. Whether it’s plastic, copper or galvanized, the Pipe Collar stays firmly attached to the pipe and only moves when the rest of the pipe moves. Because the device only attaches to the pipe , it eliminates the need for tape or mastic, which has been known to easily break down. By not requiring tape and mastic, the Pipe Collar also significantly decreases the likelihood of the pipe breaking away from the flashing which often causes costly leaks.
Wil-Mar's Pipe Collar meets ASTM D-2000 standards for high-low temperature, oil and ozone and sunlight resistance. ASTM D-2000 is an industry specification that provides buyers and suppliers an understanding of the industry standard for rubber. In essence, it describes the physical properties of rubber in a standardized way Wil-Mar also offers a warranty on the pipe collars they sell. They come in a variety of sizes as well including: ¾'’, 1’’, 1 ½'’, 2’’, 3’’ and 4.’’
Wil-Mar is a reliable company that prides itself on its products and customer service. They are a small business with a lot of heart and they make high-quality products. Supporting small businesses like Wil-Mar benefits not only them, but you can feel good about supporting a business that is doing their due-diligence in providing quality products for the construction and roofing industry.
