Dedicated to providing their members and the general public with valuable information and educational opportunities to learn about the post-frame construction industry, the National Frame Building Association (NFBA) has created a special educational video series. At no cost, this ongoing series highlights various topics and designs central to the industry. The webinar series, Post-Frame Advantage Online University, aims to educate viewers about post-frame best practices and design.
One such webinar course titled, “Universal Method for Shallow Post and Pier Foundation Design,” was recorded and is available to watch. In this educational webinar, led by Virginia Tech Associate Professor of the Department of Sustainable Biomaterials, Daniel Hindman Ph.D., P.E., participants learn about the applications of the universal method used in shallow post and pier foundation design.
Participants learned how to design shallow posts and pier foundations using the universal method, when the universal methodology should be used and how one can determine ground line shear and moments. Learn how to determine the required embedment depths for shallow post and pier foundation systems through the universal methodology.
In this webinar, Dr. Hindman presents these learning concepts in a way that is easy to understand and follow along as an observer. This webinar is the perfect opportunity for participants to expand their knowledge on the subject or freshen up on their existing skills and understanding of the universal method for shallow post and pier foundation design.
