Carlisle has spent 50 years building stronger single-ply systems, and they are dedicated to continuing the legacy of innovation today.  

The Coffee Shops, the award-winning online communities where the industries meet for technologies, safety, information and education for the construction trades of roofing, metal and coatings, are pleased to welcome Carlisle SynTec Systems into their community.

Carlisle SynTec Systems, the flagship division of Carlisle Construction Materials (CCM), is the largest commercial roofing manufacturer and the only one to produce all three major roofing membranes — EPDM, TPO and PVC. Originally founded in 1917 as the Carlisle Tire & Rubber Company, the 1960s saw their move into the roofing industry. Specifically, in 1962 they were the first to use a rubber protective membrane (the Sure-Seal® EPDM single-ply membrane) in roofing for the rotunda at O’Hare Airport in Chicago. This revolutionary move started Carlisle’s reputation leadership and innovation in the roofing industry.  

Decades and billions of square feet of roofing materials sold later, Carlisle remains dedicated to finding the most durable and reliable single-ply roof system solutions for their customers. Every product they sell is carefully designed to enhance building performance and contractor efficiency. Some of these industry-shifting products include their Factory-Applied Tape™, OctaGuard XT™Weathering Package and APEEL™Protective Film.  

In tandem with their development of high-performance products, Carlisle strongly believes in the importance of training and education in the success of contractors and the improvement of the industry as a whole. To support this, they run initiatives like the C.R.E.W. program. This program recognizes that even the best-made products will not perform well if installed incorrectly. To address this, C.R.E.W. offers comprehensive training that focuses on helping contractors in the field succeed when working with Carlisle-warranted roofing systems.  

Today, Carlisle SynTec Systems boasts over 50 years of manufacturing long-lasting single-ply roof systems and a talented network of representatives, distributors and applicators.
