METALCON Architect
October 3, 2023 at 12:00 p.m.

By Anna Lockhart.

METALCON attendees won’t want to miss out on these exciting, exclusive sessions that illustrate the power of using metal in design!

Produced in partnership with AEC Daily and sponsored by PPG, the Architect’s Experience at this year’s METALCON convention will be a ‘show within a show’ for architects, designers, specifiers and engineers looking to further their knowledge on up-and-coming industry trends and skills that are sure to set them above competitors! Participants can expect to gain a wealth of information during special sessions and networking opportunities at this exclusive show.

Held on October 18 and 19, the Architect’s Experience will feature an array of sessions covering topics that illustrate the power and possibilities of using metal in both interior and exterior design applications.

Start off the event by attending the “Managing Risk in Innovations (Creative Ideas) of the Architect / Consultant” session, led by industry experts as they share the legal risks associated with innovation and how to best navigate legal restraints on creative ideas in designing with metal. Discover clever ways to inspire clients to be more creative with projects and how to protect project risks through contract specifications and other techniques.

Attendees won’t want to miss out on the following session either, titled, “Integrating Cladding in Rainscreens and Differences Between the Two,” which RAiNA Vice Chairman, Steve Gaynor, will lead and share his knowledge of the basics on rainscreen technology. In this session, participants will learn how cladding and rainscreens can be implemented in designs efficiently.

On day two, don’t miss special sessions like “Designing Outside the Box,” which highlights the environmental impact architects and designers’ work has on the planet and how to make conscious design choices that are more sustainable and better for the environment.

Participants can participate in many other sessions, such as:

Not only will this event allow participants to network and mingle with fellow industry professionals, but attendees can earn up to one year’s worth of AIA LUs and HSWs by attending available sessions.
