Do you know someone who has made leaps and strides in the roofing industry? Help create new technology, better practices or maybe someone who just deserves to be recognized because they make the workplace a better place for everyone involved?
The James Q. McCawley Award was first presented in 1969 and has been a tradition of the Midwest Roofing Contractors Association (MRCA). It was created to highlight roofing professionals who have endorsed the beliefs and commitment of James McCawley. A man who, “was a firm believer in international contacts between businessmen.” Organizing trips throughout Europe in the 1960s allowed roofing contractors and manufacturers to travel and meet other roofing industry personnel. Because of the connections he made, he was able to set up a “Roofs Around the World” tour extending as far as Australia, New Zealand and India.
It’s people like James, who are optimistic and determined to make a change that help us move forward in the industry.
Nominees are not limited to owners or officers of a roofing firm and are not restricted to individuals located in the Midwest. You can nominate anyone in the United States whether they are a member or not of MRCA. It doesn’t matter if your nominee is a contractor or architect or attorney. What matters is that this person made a difference that you believe is worth acknowledging.
To nominate, all you need to do is fill out a form with a short description of why you believe this person embodies this award. It’s as simple as that. No other steps are required. No hidden fees to submit a nominee. But hurry! The deadline for the nomination submission is July 1, 2023.
