Safety Program Start to Finish: Connecting the Dots.
 

Along with Safety Check's Frank Marino, CRCA's Safety Committee put on it's annual safety program. This year's session informed attendees on how to create and implement a safety program from the bidding process to set up a job to on-site coordination to off loading a job when it's complete.

Roofing Over Concrete Decks - Centuries of Use, New Problems & Solutions

Matt Dupuis presented the findings of his three-year research project that was funded by CRC, CRCA, NRCA, and others. Attendees learned about design, preparation and installation issues when specifying and installing roofs over structural lightweight concrete and normal weight concrete. They also learned what to do to minimize liability for their company and the building owner or manager if normal weight or lightweight concrete is the roofing substrate. 

Common Solutions for Steep Slope Problems

Ice dams, inadequate attic insulation, and poor flashing are just some of the issues Nick Sabino covered when discussing common problems and solutions for steep slope roofs. Sabino also discussed the correct amount and type insulation needed as directed by the International Residential Code as well a proper specification of steep slope roofing to comply with national, state and local codes.

Roofing Technical Issues - Codes, Standards, Common Problems & Solutions

Mark Graham closed out the CRCA's Trade Show for the 8th year in a row! This year he discussed roofing technical issues including what to expect in the new 2021 International Building and Energy Conservation Codes and other key roofing technical issues that effect roofing contractors, consultants and design professionals, building owners, building code officials too.
