Texas Traditions Roofing, a family owned, residential and commercial roofing company serving Central Texas, provided scholarships to several area youth, allowing them to participate in the fall 2020 recreational soccer league.
"2020 has been a very challenging year for everyone with many families facing unemployment and loss of income due to the pandemic," said Gary Emory, co-founder of Texas Traditions Roofing. “We knew there might be families who could not afford the participation fee, so we decided to offer scholarships to keep the kids playing."
As an essential business, Texas Traditions Roofing has been working throughout the pandemic, repairing and replacing roofs to keep families and businesses safe and dry. “The hailstorm last May has kept us extremely busy and we are fortunate to be able to help families who experienced damage,” said Emory. “It is important to us to give back to the community and we couldn’t think of a better way than to help our youth get back outside and back into sports.”
The soccer season for Georgetown youth kicked off September 12 and runs through the end of October. Texas Traditions Roofing attended the opening weekend and provided complimentary bottled water for the participants.
