TARC Scholarship Program Accepting Applications

TARC Scholarship applications must be submitted by May 1, 2018.

The Tennessee Association of Roofing Contractors (TARC) has established a Scholarship program to assist employees, immediate family members of employees or immediate family of TARC contractor members, who plan to pursue post-secondary education in college and vocational programs.Eligibility

Applicants to the TARC Scholarship Program must be employees, immediate family members of employees, or immediate family members of TARC members. Applicants must be a high school senior or graduate who plan to enroll, or who are already enrolled in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocation-technical school.

Awards Three scholarships will be awarded for one year in the amount of $1,000.00. Applicants may reapply for the scholarship each year. The student must maintain at least a C average (or the equivalent).

  • Contractor’s Dependent Scholarship - $1,000
  • Contractor’s Dependent Scholarship - $1,000
  • Associate’s Dependent (Thomas Herbert Scholarship) - $1,000

Application Interested students must complete the attached application and mail it along with a current complete transcript of grades to TARC Scholarship Program postmarked no later than May 20.

Applicants are responsible for gathering and submitting all necessary information. Applications are evaluated on the information supplied; therefore, all applications must be complete. All information received is considered confidential.

Selection of Recipients Scholarship recipients are randomly selected based on a minimum C average and members in good standing within TARC. Financial need is not considered. The Scholarship Program Committee makes the final selection of award recipients. All applicants agree to accept the decision of the committee as final.

All scholarship winners will be notified by July 1. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year provided they meet eligibility requirements.

Payment of Scholarships The TARC Scholarship Program will issue payment by July 1. Checks are mailed to each recipient’s home address and are made payable jointly to the student and the school and must be endorsed by both.
