Supporting the future of the industry

Supporting the future of the industry
March 10, 2025 at 12:00 p.m.

By Emma Peterson.

Learn about the MCA scholarship program and how it is creating brighter futures.

Since the 1980s, the Metal Construction Association (MCA) has worked tirelessly to help manufacturers, suppliers and contractors succeed. Whether it’s through marketing and educational promotion of metal in the building envelope or taking action on public policies and laws that affect the industry, their volunteers have truly built a community of support and success in the metal industry.

And they are not just supporting the contractors and professionals of today, but also the future. This is the second year that the MCA has hosted a scholarship program that “awards funds for education to member company employees and the employees’ spouses, children and grandchildren! No matter what the career dream is, MCA’s Scholarship Program can help bring it into reach.”

The funds that are awarded through this scholarship can be used for everything from trade programs and vocational schools to community colleges and four-year universities. In 2024, the association gave out five awards to students looking to study everything from nursing to mechanical engineering.

The applications for this year’s program close on March 31, 2025! In addition to being related to an MCA member company owner or employee, applicants must have a grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or greater. It is open to high school seniors, undergraduate and graduate students. Submissions should be sent to scholarship@metalconstrcution.org as a pdf. A committee will review the applications (blinded) and choose the winners based on the submitted materials. Winners will be announced on May 1, 2025.

If you are an MCA member, make sure to send this application to your employees so they can share with the students in their lives!

Learn more about Metal Construction Association (MCA) in their Coffee Shop Directory or visit www.metalconstruction.org.
