Each year, the president of the Florida Roofing and Sheet Metal Association (FRSA) chooses a charity to support during their tenure in office. Donnie Harp of Imperial Roofing of Polk County served as president during the 2015-2016 and his charity of choice was the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
The FRSA has a Young Professional Council that decided it was going to help raise money for the FRSA team that was walking in the 2016 Orlando Great Strides Walk to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. StealthBond is committed to supporting the community and causes that are important to its customers and they were happy to support the Young Professional Council in their fundraising efforts.
The FRSA team was made up of more than 20 roofing professionals and their family members who were able to raise $8,180 for the foundation, far exceeding their original goal of $5,000. Team FRSA finished as one of the top fundraising teams for the April 2016 walk that was held in Orlando, finishing in third place. Donnie Harp was one of the top fundraisers overall, coming in fifth place with an individual total of $3,765.58. Money raised helps provide people with CF the opportunity to lead full, productive lives by funding research and drug development, promoting individualized treatment and ensuring access to high-quality, specialized care.
There are approximately 30,000 Americans living with cystic fibrosis. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, friends and co-workers who struggle every day just to breathe. The CF Foundation has raised and invested hundreds of millions of dollars to support the development of new CF drugs and therapies. But the lives of people with this disease are still cut far too short. [gaevent src="https://rooferscoffeeshop.com/rcs.php?gaplg=582"]
