In an upcoming MetalTalk on November 20, 2024, at 11:00 am PT (2:00 pm ET), Mindy Dahlquist from TRA Snow and Sun will be visiting The Coffee Shops™ to chat with Karen Edwards. Mindy is the business development manager at TRA and spends most of her time educating and training architects and contractors on snow retention systems.
These systems are incredibly important in areas that get snowfall in the winter. Without a retention system, snow can build up on a roof and then slide off in mini avalanches. These can cause a variety of problems, from damages to roofs, gutters, chimneys, decks, fencing and more to even injury and death of people. Snow retention systems mitigate this issue and hold the snow on the roof to melt slowly, rather than letting it slide off freely.
Mindy will share her extensive knowledge and insight about these systems. She and Karen will explore the different types of snow retention systems that can be put in place, such as clamp on systems, deck mounted systems and clamp on systems. From there, they will dive into how to find the right retention system for each roof type. This can be a bit of a complicated process, as with any accessory added to the roof there are many factors to keep track of, such as slope of the roof; sheathing type and thickness; panel width; and more.
Luckily, contractors and homeowners looking for some help figuring out all these factors and choosing the right snow retention system for their roof can get all the information they need from TRA. Mindy will closing the webinar by sharing a bit about the training and engineering that TRA offers, along with showcasing some of their high-quality snow retention products.
