Acculynx’s Director of Operations, Lynn Foster has a special place in his heart for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. When his daughter, Kate, was 12 years old she was diagnosed with Leukemia and St. Jude hospital was there to help her win the battle and deal with losing her leg to an infection.
He will be running the Chicago Marathon to raise funds for the hospital. Foster says he’s not just running because of everything St. Jude’s did for Kate. He’s running for kids who might be too sick to run today, but who one day might be running alongside him because the money he raised helped find a cure for childhood cancer.
Families never receive a bill from St. Jude's for treatment, travel, housing or food -- because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
Treatments invented at research hospital have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude won't stop until no child dies from cancer.
