Since 1965, SkillsUSA has been a trailblazing organization when it comes to advocating for skilled trades. They offer resources for students who are looking to expand their knowledge of a trade or technical skill and they are recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and Labor as a valuable educational resource. National Leadership and Skills Conference will be held this June 19-23 in Atlanta, Georgia, at the Georgia World Conference Center. There, SkillsUSA members can come together and participate in a variety of events, including their SkillsUSA Championships.
The SkillsUSA Championships are the main event of the conference that you won’t want to miss! The competitions will be held Wednesday, June 21 and Thursday, June 22 where you can see thousands of students show off their technical and trade expertise in 110 competitions. This year over 6,000 students will be competing in various categories including precision machining, electronics, culinary arts and so much more.
Awards will be given on Friday, June 23 starting at 5 p.m. at the State Farm Arena. There, students who competed will be awarded medals for their hard work. They will also announce the 2023 Models of Excellence schools and the new members of the 2023-24 National Officer team.
The Coffee Shops will be there as part of the conference’s TECHSPO section, where attendees can visit directly with members of the trade and technical industries. We will be at the National Roofing Contractors Association's (NRCA) booth #140 along with Roofing Technology Think Tank (RT3) and National Women in Roofing (NWIR).
