Baltimore-area technology start-up Leap announced Shashi Bellamkonda as its new Vice President of Marketing.
“I have always been fascinated by Leap’s story and how bringing technology to people and businesses can help solve problems,” says Bellamkonda. “Leap has a great culture that sets them apart from other start-ups. Their continued growth and next steps make it an exciting place to continue my career.”
Bellamkonda’s tenure at Leap is effective starting on March 12. He joins Leap during a period of rapid growth, more than doubling in size since the beginning of 2019.
Leap has created a platform combining an industry-leading software solution in an end-to-end point of sale application. This application digitizes every stage of the in-home sales process. Developed by industry veterans, the application helps businesses eliminate errors, increase efficiency and automate the day-to-day sales process, changing the way home services are bought and sold.
As Vice President of Marketing, Bellamakonda joins Leap with the primary focus of growing the organization’s footprint by implementing the overall marketing strategy. His duties will also include penetrating new verticals and supporting the expansion of Leap’s partner and integration network. Together, this will ultimately realize Leap’s vision of obtaining market-wide adoption of its platform by the home service industry.
Bellamkonda most recently served as CMO for Surefire Local, and teaches marketing as an Adjunct Professor in Digital Marketing at Georgetown’s School of Continuing Studies and McDonough School of Management.
Bellamkonda is passionate about helping small businesses and has spoken on small business and social media tools at conferences like SXSW, IABC, PRSA, Mid-Atlantic Summit, MarketingProfs and Affiliate Summit. He has also co-authored chapters in two books, and has been featured in 19 books on marketing and social media.
Bellamkonda was honored with the Washington Business Journal’s Washington Minority Business Leader award and has been called the Social Listener. He was previously featured in Washingtonian’s Top 100 Tech Titans list.
Bellamkonda has worked in the United States, India, Russia, Sweden, and Japan. He speaks six languages fluently and is conversational in two other languages.
