Saving time and money with Versico’s Flexible DASH™ Adhesive

Saving time and money with Versico’s Flexible DASH Adhesive

By Versico Roofing Systems.

AAMCO Roofing decided to install an 80-mil VersiWeld® TPO membrane on long-standing Ocean City, New Jersey amusement park building.

Playland’s Castaway Cove is a long-standing amusement park located on the Ocean City New Jersey boardwalk. Offering amusement rides, go karts and mini golf, Playland’s Castaway Cove is Ocean City’s oldest amusement park, celebrating over 55 years in business. When part of the park was expanding to include an arcade, AAMCO Roofing LLC, a Versico contractor since 2008 and based in Runnemede, New Jersey, was selected for the job.

AAMCO Roofing decided to install an 80-mil VersiWeld TPO membrane, adhered with CAV-GRIP® Low-VOC Adhesive and primer. For the insulation installation, Flexible DASH Adhesive was chosen to fully adhere the insulation. Mark Martino, owner at AAMCO Roofing said, “We chose to use the splatter application method with Flexible DASH Adhesive to save time and money. Once we ran the numbers, we saw the potential savings right away.”

The complete roofing system included:

  • DensDeck® Prime ½" Cover Board adhered with Flexible DASH Adhesive utilizing the splatter method
  • 2 layers of 3.0” VersiCore® Polyiso Insulation adhered with Flexible DASH Adhesive utilizing the splatter method
  • 80-mil VersiWeld TPO membrane adhered with CAV-GRIP 3V Low-VOC Adhesive

In 2020, Versico introduced the splatter application method for Flexible DASH Adhesive, which is approved for both membrane and insulation attachment when using Versico-approved dispensing equipment. Flexible DASH splatter application provides benefits including consistent application, approved aesthetics, improved performance and coverage rates. By moving from 4" beads to splatter application, Flexible DASH splatter application was able to provide up to 55% more coverage. Mark noted, “Using a rig and drums, we were able to get a lot of the material down in a day.”

Once the insulation was installed, AAMCO Roofing installed the 80-mil VersiWeld TPO membrane using Versico’s CAV-GRIP 3V Low-VOC Adhesive and primer. Once the project was complete, the roof system received a 20-year Total System Warranty with 120-mph wind speed coverage.

The new building began housing a brand new arcade at Playland’s Castaway Cove in the summer of 2024.
