Two industry professionals, Julia Farrell and Mason Jeffrey, teamed up at the at the 2024 International Roofing Expo (IRE) in Las Vegas to present an informative educational session specifically designed for construction professionals, safety officers and workers. Their session drew a significant crowd of more than 200 attendees!
Julia, the president and founder of WRYKER Construction Supply strives to provide quality, worker-friendly and OSHA-compliant products to workers in the industry. Mason, the corporate safety director at TeamCraft Roofing, is an expert in commercial safety. With over 25 years of experience in his current role, and as a certified OSHA trainer, both Mason and Julia have significant knowledge that sheds light on the importance of construction safety. And during their session at IRE provided invaluable insights and strategies to help industry professionals create secure and protected work environments.
The talk focused on the top 10 OSHA violations in the construction industry and aimed to raise awareness and understanding of the most frequent safety violations. In an hour and a half Tuesday morning, Julia and Mason provided the audience with knowledge and tools to help prevent incidents.
Part of this in-depth analysis of the construction industry’s most prevalent OSHA violations included the speaker sharing the inherent risks and potential consequences of each violation. Real-life case studies and insights from WRYKER's safety team were shared, illustrating the critical need for adherence to OSHA guidelines to ensure workplace safety.
The event extended beyond understanding top OSHA violations. The speakers’ goal was to equip the attendees with practical knowledge and steps, such as hazard identification, employee training and the implementation of safety protocols, to prevent these frequent violations. They also shared best practices and preventive measures that can be taken throughout the project’s timeline to help foster a safe and compliant work environment.
