Now more than ever, it’s important for us to work together for the greater good. The National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) has found a way to bring the roofing industry closer, while also sharing with Congress the need for small business support and aid.
NRCA has started a grassroots social media campaign, helping the roofing industry come together with one voice. “We need to make sure lawmakers in Congress don’t lose sight of the importance of sustaining roofing industry employers and their employees,” NRCA explains.
This social media campaign is asking contractors to get in touch with legislators in their respective states and send them a video message. On the NRCA Grassroots Advocacy Network, contractors will be able to find their legislator’s name, website, and his or her Facebook and/or Twitter pages. Then, NRCA is proposing that contractors post a video, explaining the need to support small businesses and provide them financial assistance during this economic crisis caused by the coronavirus. NRCA even provides a script to use, making it easy to create and post your video.
The script starts with an introduction and then leads into, “As Congress discusses options for helping the economy during this public health crisis, please don’t forget the roofing industry which contains many small businesses like mine.” NRCA encourages you to make it personal by adding in your company name, how many employees you have, and other information, anecdotes, or hardships you’re currently facing.
Make your voice and the voice of the roofing industry heard by Congress! Join the NRCA grassroots social media campaign and make sure to tag NRCA on Facebook at “National Roofing Contractors Association” and Twitter at “@NRCAnews” and use hashtag #RoofingProtects.
