Marcus High School needed a reroof after their previous system was damaged by hail. The project called for a durable solution and Martin Tomlinson Roofing was up to the task of such a large project installing the two-ply bituminous system made by Johns Manville. Watch the roof of the High-Altitude Research Facility being built atop Pikes Peak. The project taking place at 14,000 feet is a testament to the BUR system’s durability and resilience against intense climates.
In order to meet the specified ENERGY STAR® rating, this high school needed a reflective roof system that would cover the 875-square-foott roof. The school building was looking to lower their British thermal unit consumption to save money on energy bills. Luckily, Johns Manville had the right products and materials to transform this school’s roof into the energy efficient system it is today.
One of the largest commercial roofing projects in Kansas City, the GSA Bannister project was about 13 acres. The past system needed to be replaced due to a design flaw: a cold tar pitch roof that was not tapered.
