The Roofing Industry Alliance for Progress is asking Alliance and NRCA members to consider donating to the Melvin Kruger Endowed Scholarship Program Campaign, a permanent endowment established to provide scholarships to college and vocational-technical school students who plan to pursue careers in the roofing or building construction industries. NRCA contractor and supplier members, their immediate family members, and members' full-time employees and/or their immediate family members are eligible to receive scholarships. The campaign goal is to raise $700,000 in gifts to fulfill an overall goal of a $2 million endowment that will distribute 25 $5,000 scholarships annually. Members can also make their mark on the future of the roofing industry by establishing a scholarship in their name or their company's name. With a commitment of $50,000, the donor can choose to name the scholarship and participate in the selection of the recipient each year. The scholarship program recognizes one of the industry's greatest leaders, Melvin Kruger, of L.E. Schwartz & Son Inc., Macon, Ga., a former NRCA president, former Alliance president and the principal fundraiser at the time the Alliance was established. Donors will be publically recognized online and at numerous events, so please consider contributing to the scholarship program today and help the Alliance make a difference in the lives of students and increase the number of scholarships it awards annually.
