Roofing Does Really Make a Difference

ABC - Coffee Conversations - Caught Doing Good Sponsored by ABC Supply - Watch
October 16, 2022 at 9:00 a.m.

By Cass Jacoby.

In a special Coffee Conversations podcast, Heidi and panelists talk about all the good the roofing industry can do for their communities and highlight how lifechanging giving back can be.

This very special Coffee Conversations celebrates the heart of the roofing industry as we talk about the roofing contractors, professionals and companies we have Caught Doing Good. Join our esteemed panelists, president and COO of Antis Roofing Susan DeGrassi and CEO and founder of Antis Roofing Charles Antis as well as president and CEO of Shell Roofing Solutions Rudy Gutierrez for a conversation that celebrates their philanthropy.

ABC Supply sponsored this episode of Coffee Conversations and is a huge supporter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation as well as Home For Our Troops. ABC Supply is helping the Coffee Shop highlight just one of the many amazing things taking place in the roofing industry today.

Antis Roofing is well known for working alongside Habitat for Humanity and hosting blood drives, as well as working with the Ronald McDonald House. “Our core areas of focus tend to evolve around shelter. And that was kind of a cornerstone, keeping families safe and dry,” says Susan. “It is all about providing shelter to people at their worst possible moments.”

Shell Roofing Solution has also worked with the Ronald McDonald House, as well as with The Whole Child, Habitat for Humanity and Paws 4 Success, a shelter where they take in rescue animals and nurse them to health. “They're brought back to health and then they are partnered with somebody in the military or law enforcement, or a young child that's having some major, major health issues. And these special assignments, these dogs are trained to help them deal with their challenges,” says Rudy. “So not only the dogs get a second chance, but obviously they help our most vulnerable people that take care of us when we need it.”

These projects are lifechanging in more ways than just one. While they obviously benefit those in need, they are additionally huge elements of changing company culture for the better. “What it does inside and outside your company, and what it does to your culture. Who knew?” says Charles. “People care, more now than ever, about what really matters. And the only way people can see it is through this authenticity and the vulnerabilities that show when you're doing good in the world. “

Shining the light on the good the roofing industry can do is monumental in terms of instilling purpose to your crew and company. “We're not doing this because we're saints,” says Charles. “We're doing this because we're being smart business people and we care about our people, inside our company and outside in the community. And we really can make a difference.”

Listen to the podcast to learn more about how roofers can get involved with their communities and charities and for more information on how our panelists are giving back.
