Latest survey focuses on top business issues with labor number one concern.

RoofersCoffeeShop.com, the place where the industry meets for technology, information and everyday business, has released their 2017 Trends Survey results. Their most recent survey features feedback from 195 contractors about their top business issues in 2017. With an eye to 2018, contractors see labor as the number one issue for their businesses. A deeper dive shows that contractors are most concerned about finding qualified help.

As the industry leader in connecting trades men and women with roofing contractors, RoofersCoffeeShop.com saw that networking for roofing contractors not only with potential employees, but also with the industry as a whole, remains a top priority. Contractors were surveyed to find out the answers to what their top business issues were, to discover what sources they rely on for industry news, new product information and technical information; and to identify their top preferred brands and technologies.

Additional business issues included concerns with business operations, products, production and sales. Sixty percent of those surveyed noted that they were starting a service and maintenance division, yet coatings was still not a prominent product for their business. Top roofing brands and technologies were also identified in the survey.

“It is important that we consistently listen to the roofing community and understand their needs, ”stated Vickie Sharples owner of RoofersCoffeeShop.com. “We listen and continue to provide a place where they can find solutions while networking overall with the industry digitally. These are highly professional craftsmen and women who run great businesses and we strive to provide the information, resources and educational opportunities to ensure their continued success.”

The survey was conducted during the third quarter of 2017, with responses accepted from August 14, 2017 through September 30, 2017. Contractors from 36 states responded and represented businesses ranging in size from less than 10 employees to more than 3,500. A copy of the complete 2017 Trends Report can be downloaded at here.
