RoofConnect and GAF donate new roof to Camp Aldersgate, ensuring continued support for children with special needs

RoofConnect, in partnership with GAF, recently donated a new roof for Camp Aldersgate’s Caring Center, which serves as Methodist Family Health’s alternative learning school for children to receive education and behavioral counseling.

Camp Aldersgate is one of eight camps in Arkansas accredited by the American Camp Association, and the only accredited camp in Arkansas designed for children with special needs. The roof, which had been leaking, was replaced with new materials. “We love to give back to our local community in Little Rock,” said Wade Crosswhite, President at RoofConnect. “We are proud to partner with GAF to donate a new roof so that Camp Aldersgate can continue to serve the children in our community for years to come.”

Camp Aldersgate also offers year-round programming for approximately 500 campers with special needs and diagnoses including muscular dystrophy, spina bifida, diabetes, cardiac conditions and more. Helping to develop a community of peers with similar experiences and diagnoses, Camp Aldersgate hopes to provide a memorable time for its campers. In addition to medical diagnosis-specific camps, they offer Kota Camps that allow children of all abilities to bring a friend or sibling to participate in a week-long camp session.

RoofConnect donated the installation labor and GAF, North America’s largest roofing and waterproofing manufacturer, donated roofing materials. This collaboration is part of GAF’s social impact initiative, GAF Community Matters, which is focused on making a positive difference as neighbors and partners in the community by leveraging roofing expertise, resources and products to help build resilient communities.
