On Feb. 2, Washington, D.C.-based Rebuilding Together, NRCA's national charity partner, will hold its 23nd annual Kickoff to Rebuild a few days before the National Football League's (NFL's) Super Bowl LII in Minneapolis.
Celebrities, NFL players and officials, sponsors and community members will volunteer to help rehabilitate six homes and develop a community garden in the Bryant neighborhood of South Minneapolis. The community garden will give neighbors access to fresh produce, which is extremely limited, and offer opportunities to connect to their neighborhood. The Sankofa Garden will also work to establish a community kitchen, giving all neighbors a space to learn fresh food preparation techniques and nutrition information.
