Nino was an Air Force Veteran and a retired NY Detective who began a new career 15 years ago at Collis Roofing. He was responsible for job site inspections, auto and personnel incident investigations, workers' compensation claims, injury liability claims, drug-free workplace policy and fleet management and safety. He also oversaw the Fleet GPS and dash camera service installed in the company vehicles. Nino was instrumental in building the Collis Roofing safety program from the ground up and continued to evolve it to maintain current standards and regulations. Nino was a Certified Occupational Safety Specialist and had OSHA 10-hour and 30-hour certifications, along with being an OSHA Outreach Trainer and a trainer for Powered Industrial Trucks and Elevated Work Platforms. Nino conducted weekly safety orientations and refresher courses along with Toolbox Talks with each crew and safety presentations for various general contractors and home builders such as DR Horton and Jones Homes in English and Spanish.
Nino is survived by his wife Nydia and two sons and grandchildren.
