June 21, 2018 at 6:29 a.m.

Orlando Group Roofing of Addison, Texas, is the first U.S. contractor to be accredited to apply the Stormseal™ storm recovery system. Stormseal is a weather-resistant film that protects storm-damaged structures until repairs can be made.

Addison, Texas: Orlando Group Roofing and General Construction

Orlando Group Roofing and General Construction of Addison, Texas, is no stranger to the severe storms that frequently batter the Dallas, Fort Worth, and Oklahoma City areas. In 2018, it has become the first U.S. company to complete the accreditation program for the innovative storm-recovery system, Stormseal™. Stormseal was created by Australian company Stormseal Industries Pty Ltd and is manufactured and distributed in the United States by Stormseal USA LLC. It is a wind-, rain-, and hail-resistant polyethylene film that is applied with heat to damaged roofs and structures, “shrink-wrapping” them to protect from further damage until permanent repairs can be made.

“We are extremely thrilled to bring our product to the people of the United States,” says Stormseal USA CEO Matthew Lennox. “Stormseal is especially excited to partner in the U.S. market with Orlando Group, a well-established company that is committed to excellence in everything it does. We couldn’t be happier.”

Commercial and residential properties alike benefit from Orlando Group’s comprehensive storm-damage repair and restoration services, and the addition of Stormseal further enhances the company’s service offerings. “Orlando Group’s general manager Robert Ward and senior technician Edward Garcia are now fully accredited through Stormseal’s training program,” states Lennox. “They’ll be able to implement our system in the aftermath of wild weather events. With the addition of Stormseal technology, Orlando Group’s experienced crews can respond quickly to emergency situations and make immediate repairs, with the goals of keeping families and properties safe and minimizing additional damage.”

Stormseal USA has partnered with Optimum Training and ENSA North America to offer accredited installer training and certification programs in Amarillo, Texas, and Orlando, Florida. A Stormseal-protected building was featured on the cover of the April 2018 issue of Florida Roofing.

Both Stormseal USA and Orlando Group share similar founding principles: integrity, confidence, and trust. The two companies are like-minded in their approach to business–looking after their customers, providing piece of mind, and assisting in rapid recovery. According to Orlando Group president Doug Hasty, “Our company is committed to providing a better policyholder experience, keeping families and properties safe throughout and after storms.”

According to Lennox, Orlando Group’s adoption of Stormseal adds value to the company’s existing comprehensive storm-damage repair and restoration services for the insurance industry. “Our guys were really impressed with the Stormseal training,” adds Hasty. “We were so impressed that we have booked more guys to get trained! And Stormseal has made it so easy to place orders online.”

As Orlando Group has grown, it has remained true to its ideals and expanded its service department to address customer requests for thorough inspections, quality repairs and installations, and groundbreaking products. Hasty concludes: “Our goal of growing and improving as a company is to better serve our neighbors in Texas and Oklahoma. The addition of Stormseal to Orlando Group’s service offerings is helping to secure our place as the leading choice in the roofing industry.”

About Stormseal USA LLC

Stormseal is a strong polyethylene film that covers a damaged structure, staying in place until permanent repairs can be made. Manufactured from low-density polyethylene resins that are combined with fire-retardant and ultraviolet-resistant additives, the resulting mix forms a strong plastic film when applied on a damaged roof or wall, enhancing the structure’s strength without damaging underlying materials. Designed to replace flapping, leaking, flyaway tarpaulins that often lead to more damage, Stormseal helps roofers to better manage reconstruction efforts following severe weather events.

Stormseal, manufactured and distributed in the United States, is tested at multiple points during manufacture and has proven its resistance to severe weather in wind-tunnel and hail-impact tests. The product holds two U.S. patents. Stormseal partners with the Australian government and multiple industry companies to ensure comprehensive protection for storm-damaged residential and commercial structures.
