Florida Roofing and Sheet Metal Association (FRSA) member, Board of Director and SIF Trustee, Ralph Davis of Streamline Roofing and Construction Inc., Tallahassee, is working with Operation Reroof Puerto Rico. He has a roll former machine and some supplies but is looking for more donations, in particular a 10-foot or 12-foot sheet metal break or a large generator. Operation Reroof Puerto Rico is a charitable organization and donations are deductible according to IRS regulations.
He is also looking for any suppliers that would want to donate 41 9/16 wide metal 26 gauge. Monetary donations can be made on the website portal. They already have raised about $25,000 in donations for metal.
“The whole concept is to teach a man to fish . . . we're going to take the equipment down there, show the locals how to run and use it, and give them about 40,000 square-foot of material. We’ll work with them on a few homes and then leave it all with them, so that they roof themselves,” explained Davis. “These people are literally living under blue tarps around four block walls.”
If you know of anyone who would like to donate equipment for this project, please contact Ralph at 850-575-1168 or by email at info@streamlineroofing.com.
