The safety stand-down is meant to raise awareness among employers and workers about the hazards of falls. Fatalities caused by falls from elevation continue to be a leading cause of death for construction workers, accounting for 366 of the 971 construction fatalities recorded in 2017, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
OSHA, the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health and the Center for Construction Research and Training are leading the effort to encourage employers to pause during their workdays for topic discussions, demonstrations and training regarding how to recognize hazards and prevent falls.
As an employer, it is your responsibility to comply with OSHA's fall-protection regulations. Don't miss this unique opportunity to stay current with the latest fall-protection compliance strategies to keep your workers safe. This special series consists of three 30-minute sessions.
NRCA's OSHA National Safety Stand-Down Week Webinar Series will include Fall Protection: Ladders, Guardrails and Warning Lines May 7; Fall Protection: Personal Fall-arrest Systems (PFAS) May 8; and Fall Protection: Rescue Techniques and Suspension Trauma May 9.
