National Roofing Contractors Association’s (NRCA) national certification initiative, ProCertification®, is leading the industry in creating a competent and sustainable roofing and waterproofing workforce. Any and all experienced workers who demonstrate substantial roofing knowledge and skills can become ProCertified in several specific roof system installations including:
Asphalt shingles installer
Thermoplastic systems installer
EPDM systems installer
Roofing foreman
Qualified assessor
The ProCertification exams are designed to create clear career paths for roofing professionals, address the current workforce shortage, increase customer confidence in workers and elevate the roofing industry with other trade professions that currently offer national certifications.
To prepare for the ProCertification process, NRCA offers several free test preparation resources including:
Computer-based testing tutorials – These explain the test-day experience in order to familiarize future test takers with the format of the exam and other information and materials that will be needed for a successful testing experience.
Practice tests – These practice tests provide an opportunity for exam candidates to get comfortable with the online-testing process, as well as the types of questions that will be asked on the real exam. Each practice test contains 25 questions and has a time limit of 45 minutes. To access these practice tests, simply login to your NRCA account and add the free test to your cart and checkout. Afterwards, the test will appear under the course section in your account.
Job task analysis – This document provides information on how the computer-based knowledge test was developed and contains the subject matter of each ProCertification exam.
You can also view NRCA’s full readiness checklist to ensure your success on the ProCertified exams. Additionally, all NRCA ProCertification information, materials and exams are available in both English and Spanish.
