We’ve seen an onslaught of hurricanes and winter storms. Starting in July with Hurricane Barry, we’ve continued to see more tropical storms and hurricanes, most recently Hurricanes Dorian and Lorenzo. And now winter has surprised us with an early start. Nearly four feet of snow fell in Montana at the end of September, their second-highest two-day snowfall on record. After a storm, like one of these, it’s important to inspect your customers’ roofs to ensure they didn’t suffer any damage.
Reid Ribble, the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) CEO is encouraging business owners “...to assess roof damage from ground level and not attempt repairs on their own.” This initial evaluation simply involves checking for any disturbances or missing shingles. According to Reid, “Damage assessment of a roof system and subsequent repairs should be done by a professional roofing contractor.”
Being a member of NRCA can be advantageous for you and your company. Associations like NRCA support the roofing industry and have the capability of delivering a widespread message to consumers in order to promote that they should work with professional contractors. Your company would have the ability to utilize messaging and support that NRCA gives to the industry, similar to Reid Ribble’s video. Not only is the message being conveyed by a professional and a CEO, but videos like his could be utilized in your marketing efforts, further benefiting your company.
NRCA also wants to share about an online tool that helps people find a reliable contractor, which can be difficult to do after a disaster. According to Reid, thieves flourish on opportunities to take advantage of people when they’re vulnerable and in need, such as after a storm. “If an unsolicited contractor knocks on your door and offers you a sweet deal to inspect and repair your roof, NRCA advises you to politely decline,” Reid shares. NRCA urges people to use an online tool that helps people find a dependable contractor. They simply search using their ZIP code at www.everybodyneedsaroof.com to find a trustworthy and professional roofing contractor in their area.
As a contractor, getting listed on a site like this is a helpful way for your company to gain online presence and to promote your company. In an online world, a tool like this makes your company more accessible. Additionally, it’s supported by NRCA, which establishes your business as dependable and credible.
Becoming a member of NRCA grants your company access to information and support from a well-known and respected association. Additionally, it establishes that you’re a professional and reputable company. NRCA is here for your business and to keep you protected.
