New Spec Writer tool launched by ATAS

User-friendly tool provides a seamless way for professionals to quickly generate accurate, customized specifications for metal panel systems.

This powerful online tool is designed to streamline the specification process for specifiers, architects and designers. The ATAS Spec Writer will allow users to tailor a 3-part specification to their exact project needs by following the step-by-step prompts. The program can create specifications for metal roofing systems, metal wall cladding systems, insulated metal panels, perimeter edge systems, interior ceilings and soffits.  

This user-friendly tool provides a seamless way for professionals to quickly generate accurate, customized specifications for metal panel systems. By guiding users through the process, the Spec Writer ensures that specifications align with project requirements, industry standards, and best practices. The intuitive online interface offers easy navigation, and the industry-compliant formatting ensures consistency with CSI MasterFormat® and other industry standards.

The Spec Writer streamlines a metal roofing specification by guiding users through key project requirements, such as structural vs. non-structural installation, minimum roof slope and material thickness/gauge. The tool ensures compatibility by filtering out options that don’t meet project criteria — preventing errors like selecting an incompatible profile or unavailable metal type. It also provides a comprehensive list of product options, clips, colors, underlayments and warranties, giving users confidence that no detail is overlooked.

Users can also access specifications for ATAS products through SpecLink or MasterSpec if they are subscribers to those services. If they are not, and choose not to use the ATAS Spec Writer, they can always contact ATAS directly if they need assistance in creating an architectural guide spec through the “Request a Spec” button on the website. In response, an ATAS employee will be in contact with them to clarify their needs before sending a customized specification for their project.
