Sarah Schneider, Beth James-Bourgeois and Audrey McGarrell all work for the Cool Roof Rating Council (CRRC), a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Portland, Oregon. The CRRC is a member-based organization that develops scientifically supported methods for evaluating and labeling the radiative properties of roofing and exterior wall products. The CRRC is known for its popular Rated Roof Products Directory.
Sarah is the CRRC deputy director and has been in the roofing industry since 2013. She moved from California to Oregon in late 2015, and is a mom of a 3 ½ year old boy and three cats who all keep her on her toes. Sarah is also an avid consumer of true crime and supernatural podcasts, horror movies and crossword puzzles, and loves spending time outdoors with family and friends. She’s looking forward to meeting more Oregon folks in the roofing industry and getting her hands dirty with National Women in Roofing (NWiR) sponsored volunteer events, like the Project Homeless Connect build project.
Beth is the CRRC administrative manager and has been in the roofing industry since 2019. Beth has fun running around with her two boys, ages three and six, and her feisty Corgidor, Astrid. She also enjoys reading, cooking, visiting with family and friends and gardening. Okay, maybe not enjoying gardening, but she definitely spends a lot of time on yard work. Beth is excited to be a part of NWiR to participate in local chapter events and to build new connections within the roofing industry.
Audrey is the CRRC project manager and has been in the roofing industry since 2021. When she’s not working, Audrey loves hanging out with her husband and dog, exploring Portland and the surrounding area (she’s a Pennsylvania transplant!), thrift shopping and reading. She also recently started taking improv classes and getting involved with the local comedy scene. Audrey is really looking forward to getting to know the local NWiR members, many of whom she had a chance to meet for the first time at this year’s NWiR Day and the International Roofing Expo (IRE), and participating in local chapter events. The chapter members have been so welcoming, and she can’t wait to get more involved with this amazing network of women!
