Longtime Metal Roofing Alliance (MRA) advocate and well-known metal roofing expert Scott Kriner recently received the 2020 Marty Hastings Award from the Cool Roof Rating Council (CRRC).
The award recognizes and honors one outstanding volunteer each year.
For the past 20 years, Kriner has been deeply involved with the CRRC, a nonprofit educational organization that works to develop accurate and credible methods for evaluating and labeling the radiative properties of roofing products. Kriner’s contributions include serving on and chairing the organization’s technical committee, and also serving as an Ex-Officio on the CRRC board of directors. His many contributions include helping develop CRRC’s Product Rating Program and the CRRC Color Family Program.
Kriner has been involved in the materials side of the building construction industry for more than 40 years, focusing on cool metal roofing technologies. His contributions and metal roofing expertise continue to have a major positive impact on the industry today.
“Scott has been such a valuable resource for the Metal Roofing Alliance for the past 20-plus years,” said Renee Ramey, MRA executive director. “His knowledge and experience within the metal roofing industry along with his amazing demeanor have made working with Scott a pure joy. We are thrilled he has been named the recipient of this year’s Marty Hastings Award.”
CRRC created the Mary Hasting Award in 2011 to honor one outstanding volunteer each year who has made extraordinary contributions to the organization. To honor Kriner as this year’s recipient, CRRC has made a donation in his name to the Stephen Siller Tunnels to Towers Foundation, which helps provide mortgage-free homes to veterans, first responders and their spouses who have been affected by a catastrophic injury or killed in the line of duty.
