Members and friends of the Montana Roofing Association gathered on August 11, 2023, to enjoy the 9th annual Cameron Sauter Memorial Golf Tournament. The proceeds raised from this event went to honor the Cameron Sauter Memorial Scholarship, which invests in the future of the roofing industry by providing scholarships to members of the association, their families and employees.
This year’s tournament was held at the Old Works Golf Course in Anaconda, Montana, and boasted over one hundred attendees who showed up to participate in a day of friendly competition. Companies from across the state came together to donate and sponsor the event, HUB Insurance sponsored the event’s speakers, Protech Steel provided lunch and Brava Tile sponsored the beverage cart. With these sponsorships and donations from attendees, this year’s event brought in over $5,000 in proceeds to go towards the Cameron Sauter Memorial Scholarship fund.
The first-place team won a prize of $100 per player, beating the competition by four strokes. The second-place team was chosen by a score card playoff, each player receiving a prize of $50. For those who didn’t win a golfing prize they were eligible for the chance to win raffle prizes, which were raffled off throughout the course of the day. Notable prizes were a golf trip at the Powderhorn in Sheridan, Wyoming, and a stunning Traeger Grill, donated by MacArthur’s.
The event was a remarkable success, and the Montana Roofing Association cannot wait to host yet another annual golf tournament in 2024. For those eager to participate, do not miss the 10th annual Cameron Sauter Memorial Golf Tournament, which will take place August 9, 2024.
