There will be plenty to see at the show, including proven metal roofing solutions in the Marco Weather-Tite™ System at booth 746. But should you plan some time after the show to explore the home of the Steelers.
Pittsburgh offers plenty of attractions for visitors. According to the travel site TripAdvisor, “Pittsburgh has been remade and reimagined. Think 24 miles of riverfront trails, beautiful parks and historic attractions. No visit is complete without a trip to the Strip District or PNC Park, a ride up the Duquesne Incline or a stop at The Andy Warhol Museum. Architecture buffs love Pittsburgh for the amazing downtown buildings. Hollywood producers, do, too—the city has even been called the “Hollywood of the East."”
Check out the city’s tourism website which has a ton of useful information—everything you need to plan a trip that’s right for you and your crew. They even have an online version of their 148-page visitor’s guide that highlights different neighborhoods and outlines all kinds of entertainment, dining and shopping choices. Here are three of our favorites:
Heinz Field—What better way to pay homage to the steel industry than with a visit to the home of the Steel Curtain! Heinz Field is a part of a redevelopment along the North Side of the Allegheny and Ohio Rivers that includes a huge casino, a science center, PNC Park for baseball, the Warhol Museum and countless bars and restaurants. The stadium itself is a great place to visit for any football fan (Steeler supporter or not) and see the Super Bowl Trophies, the lockers of Terry Bradshaw, Joe Green and other Steeler greats, and more.
Mount Washington—The best view of the city (and the second-most romantic view in the world according to one Condé Nast article). Easily accessible by car or the famous Duquesne incline, the view from the top is spectacular as one can see not only downtown Pittsburgh, but also Heinz Field, PNC park and the several iconic yellow bridges that connects the city.
Strip District—This area has great cafes where you can get a cup of coffee and relax. If you are looking for the finest imported cheeses and meats, PennMac is a must. Other specialty shops offer spices from around the globe, fine pastries, candies and much more. Two historic churches are also located in the area — Old St. Patrick’s and St. Stanislaus. The garden at Old St. Patrick’s is an oasis offering shade and beautiful plants and trees.
Check out Pittsburgh while in town for METACON. And check out booth 746 for an up-close look at “the best roofing ventilation and accessories for metal roofs” from Marco. The Marco team will be on hand to answer all your questions on the full line of Weather-Tite solutions including closure, ventilation, fasteners, sealant, underlayment and accessories.
