Meet the Multi-purpose Underlayment That Can Stand the Heat

Polyglass Polystick TU Plus Multi-Purpose Underlayment
August 27, 2023 at 12:00 p.m.

By Polyglass.

Polystick TU PLUS underlayment is designed to provide puncture resistance and resist high temperatures.

Polystick TU PLUS from Polyglass is designed for use in mechanically fastened roof tile applications. However, Polystick TU PLUS can also be applied for use under metal, shakes, shingles and organic roofing systems and can be used as an underlayment for other steep-sloped roof covers. The underlayment uses ADESO® dual-compound self-adhered technology, a polymer modified bitumen upper compound and a proprietary self-adhesive SBS (elastomeric) compound, and split release film for easy application and proven performance.

TU PLUS features dual reinforcement consisting of an internal fiberglass mat and a superior polyester reinforced surface fabric. This reinforcement combination creates a robust membrane that provides puncture resistance to heavy tiles and deck and substrate imperfections. Polystick TU PLUS’ fabric surfacing is rated for 180-day exposure and is skid resistant.

Polystick TU PLUS features patented SEALLap® factory applied adhesive treatment at the membrane overlap which provides a quick watertight bond.

Although Polystick TU PLUS is designed as an underlayment for clay and concrete tile coverings, this membrane can also be installed under slate tiles. Can be installed as part of a multi-ply underlayment system when used over Polystick MTS PLUS.

Typical applications

  • Multi-purpose steep slope underlayment, specially designed for tile applications.
  • Approved for application under metal.
  • Designed as effective reinforcement for perimeter and flashing details.
  • For use in both adhesive set and mechanically fastened roof tile applications.
