Safety and Accuracy have always been a primary concern, and for many roofers, saving time throughout the process can really add up. The less time you spend measuring and creating the estimate, the more time you can spend with the homeowner, answering their questions and creating the trust that is crucial to every successful project.
How Long Does it Take?
About 5 minutes for the average roof. The first few attempts may take a little longer but the learning curve is short. Most people are drawing quickly after practicing on a few sample roofs. RoofSnap integrates directly with Google Maps, Apple Maps, and Nearmap, which means that you can usually find a good clear image to use for sketching the roof. Sometimes, however, in more rural locations, using a drone to capture a high-res image of the roof is ideal. The drone image can be imported into RoofSnap and used for sketching the roof. The drone also creates a wow factor for the customer and can assist in efficiently inspecting the roof. Using imagery that is integrated into RoofSnap is faster but using a drone to capture the image is definitely cooler, even though it takes more time.
Other RoofSnap Videos
In previous tutorials, the speed of the video has been increased so that the videos aren't super long but still serve as a reference. In this RoofSnap Time Challenge, the video is in real-time to show exactly how long it takes. It also details each step of the process.
Our Customers
RoofSnap customers tell us that when compared to hand measuring the roof using a tape measure and calculating the geometry, they can measure AND create a complex estimate PDF in less time. When compared to ordering a measurement report from a professional measuring service, our customers comment that they can measure the roof in real time, not having to wait for a 3rd party to create and email the measurements. The accuracy from creating and owning your own measurements is ensured because you take the time to get the lines and pitch values correct. 3rd party technicians likely don't have the same concern for accuracy as you do and their reports don't provide you with the ability to modify or correct their mistakes.
Do I Still Need to Inspect the Roof?
Absolutely! RoofSnap is another tool in your arsenal. Just like a drone with a camera or a tape measure, it does not eliminate the need for a physical inspection. It can't tell you how many layers are on the roof and it can't replace your expertise. RoofSnap will help you measure and estimate more quickly and accurately, all from the ground, and that creates Safety!
