The Metal Building Manufacturers Association (MBMA) has added to its a library of free, downloadable resources for architectural students and their professors with its newest publication, “The Milne Center for Ocean Science and Conservation.” This 20-page folio explores the design and construction of a unique metal building that serves an integral role with the world-renowned Mystic Aquarium in Mystic, Connecticut. “This is the 10th release in the Architectural Significance in Metal Buildings series, which was created for architectural faculty and students to learn about metal building systems and their extraordinary possibilities,” says Tony Bouquot, MBMA general manager. “Each publication analyzes the design goals, priorities, and outcomes for that facility. The newest folio delves into the objectives, design and construction of this incredible oceanic education and research center.”
MBMA created the Milne Center for Ocean Science and Conservation folio in coordination with Capital Studio Architects, Carlin Construction and the Mystic Aquarium. It includes:
