Mapping success and seeking synergies at IRE 2024

Project Map It IRE 2024
April 9, 2024 at 6:00 p.m.

By Dani Sheehan.

Catch this interview with Stephen Spence from Project Map It to learn about his company’s interactive technology and why he attended IRE this year.

If you’ve ever looked at the R-Club map on RoofersCoffeeShop®, you’re already aware of the cool work done by Project Map It. Megan Ellsworth caught up with Stephen Spence, managing director of Project Map It, during the 2024 International Roofing Expo (IRE). Watch the interview below to learn more about this incredible partner and some observations from the IRE exhibit floor.

For roofing contractors not familiar with the work they do, Steve explains, “We’re an interactive mapping portfolio. Imagine a map of all your past projects pinned to the map on each pin. You can load photos straight from our web app, so you can be at the job site, take photos with your phone right then or load them up later with a drone. We connect with Google Business profiles, so all your Google reviews can be displayed on the map.”

RoofersCoffeeShop uses it for R-Club members to share what they do with our users and connect with fellow members, but as Steve boasts, the bread and butter of the application really comes for the salesperson. He continues, “[Our map has] the ability to go down to shingle color. So, if you’re a roofer and you’re at a house, and the homeowner’s like, ‘Oh, I’m looking more for a black roof,’ you can click a button and the map changes to only show more black roofs. So, it really makes the life of a salesperson quite easy.”

At last year’s event, Steve was a vendor, but this year he came for the networking. When asked what he was most excited about he shared, “I’m always a fan of technology. It’s who I am. I’ll network and see if there are any other partners that might benefit or have synergies with our product, absolutely. But I want to see some of my friends in the technology area.”
