Managing professional relationships

Managing professional relationships
February 14, 2025 at 12:30 p.m.

RCS Influencer Matthew Copeland says to focus on one-on-one personal relationships.

Editor's note: The following is the transcript of a live interview with RCS Influencer Matthew Copeland. You can read the interview below, listen to the podcast or watch the recording.

Alex Tolle: Hello, I'm Alex Toll with Roofers Coffee Shop and I am here with Matt Copeland for the January influencer question. Glad to have you here Matt. So our January question is how can roofing professionals build stronger relationships and foster professionalism within the industry in 2025.

Matthew Copeland: Yeah, I think one of the important things this year is really to keep focused on these one-on-one personal relationships, especially as the world is so focused on automation in every possible way and technology and all the ways that that can impact things, which is great. And there's all kinds of good opportunity there. I wouldn't want to lose track of the human touch aspect of these things. I think that's a really big part of it. And I think also trying to stay focused on or stay grounded in reality and facts as much as possible. Again, there's kind of a common push towards hyperbole and definitive answers to things when there are definitive answers and things like that. I we can all benefit from really trying to stay grounded in fact and giving the best information that we have without going over the top or without promising more than is really reality. And that helps everybody make informed decisions and make the best choices going forward.

Alex Tolle: Yeah, absolutely. I love that first part that you said about keeping the human touch because we live in such a digital world now and there's so many times where our back and forth is just like a quick Teams message or an email. So it's good to still get on the call face to face in person if you can. So I love that. All right, thank you so much, Matt.

Matthew Copeland: Exactly.

Matthew Copeland: Definitely. Very cool. Happy to.
