Non-stop action continued as thousands of professionals in the metal design and construction industry gathered to network and learn from each other and experts.
The day began with a Keynote Address from former professional ice hockey center and seven-time Stanley Cup champion, Bryan Trottier. Trottier spoke to a packed theatre about finding strength in teamwork and diversity. The keynote address was sponsored by Pittsburgh based premier sponsor, PPG.
Following the Keynote, the exhibit floor opened and exhibitors were kept busy all day long. METALCON’s newest feature, CONTECH, was buzzing with activity yesterday as over 500 attendees learned about the latest in construction technology. With the booth’s sleek, modern design, attendees got a “taste of the future” the minute they walked in. Hands on, interactive demonstrations enabled attendees to get a feel for the technology including virtual reality, AI, and 3D Modeling.
In addition to visiting with exhibitors, non-stop education was available in the Learning Centers and in the PPG Theatre with topics ranging from business strategies, understanding the complexities of insulated metal panels, and an update on the status of steel tariffs.
Continuing with METALCON’s 20-year tradition of “giving back” to the city where the show is located, the day concluded with an exciting raffle drawing for autographed sports memorabilia followed by a special check presentation of $7500 to the Veterans Leadership Program of Western Pennsylvania. Thank you to all who contributed and made this year’s campaign a huge success!
